Var. pubescens Allan var. nov. 

Type: BD 76190, tussock grassland on Mount Paris, leg. J. H. Sorensen, 22/2/46, in fr.

Capsules pubescent, becoming glab.; peduncles densely pubescent; lines of pubescence on branchlets broad. Lvs remote, lowest hardly > 5 mm. long, upper ± 12 mm. long, of ovate order.
