Porina leptaleina

P. leptaleina (Nyl.) Müll.Arg., Bull. Herb. Boissier 2, App. 1: 91 (1894).

Verrucaria leptaleina Nyl., Lich. Nov. Zel.: 130 (1888).

Segestria leptaleina (Nyl.) Hellb., Bih. K. Sv. Vet.-Akad. Handl. 21 (3/13): 131 (1896).

Holotype: New Zealand. Westland, Greymouth, on podocarp scale, 1886, Richard Helms 281 – H-NYL 1788.

Description : Flora (1985: 415).

S: Westland (Greymouth).

Endemic

Porina leptaleina is very similar to P. leptalea (see above), but differs in the corticolous habit, the slightly larger perithecia, and larger, 3-septate ascospores, 21.5–35 × 3.5–6 μm.
