Phaeographis inusta

Description : Flora (1985: 383).

Chemistry : TLC−, all reactions negative.

N: Auckland (Waitakere Ra.), South Auckland (Kaingaroa Plains, Rotorua), Wellington (sine loco). On bark (Coriaria sp., Dacrycarpus), lowland and coastal. Known also from Great Britain, Europe, North America, India, Hawai'i, New Caledonia, Western Samoa (Singh & Awasthi 1981; Purvis et al. 1992; Esslinger & Egan 1995; Elix & McCarthy 1998; Scholz 2000; López de Silanes & Álvarez 2003; Nimis & Martellos 2003).

Phaeographis inusta is characterised by: the corticolous habit; the creamish or whitish, wrinkled, thick thallus, K−; and the 3-septate ascospores, 18–21 × 7– 10 μm.
