Type: BD 76028, H.H.A. Also collected on Dunstan Range, R. Barker.

Lflts pale olive-green, glabrate above; spines crimson to purplish; otherwise similar to type.

DIST.: Type locality: Te Akatarewa, Waitaki River, in tussock-grassland.
