Gymnomitrion strictum (Berggr.) R.M.Schust.

Gymnomitrion strictum (Berggr.) R.M.Schust. var. strictum

Plants with branching sparse, irregular. Leaves ovate, the lobes symmetrically developed, erect, the tips never conspicuously divergent, terminating in a single cell that is usually little elongated. Cells in lobe tips and in the hyaline margins thick-walled to guttulate, within the lobes becoming somewhat elongated, developing ill-defined but sometimes perceptible trigones; cells of lobe bases and leaf middle more often little elongated or subisodiametric, remaining firm-walled but developing coarse and often nodose or nodose-confluent trigones.

♀ Bracts with lobes acute but never long-acuminate.
