Pyrenothrix Riddle

Type : Pyrenothrix nigra Riddle

Description : Flora (1985: 487).

Pyrenothrix is a genus of two species included in the family Pyrenotrichaceae (Pennycook & Galloway 2004; Eriksson 2005). It is discussed by Henssen (1964) as the later synonym Lichenothrix Henssen, and by Eriksson (1981). A recent treatment of the genus describes a new, foliicolous species from Mexico (Herrera-Campos et al. 2005). One species occurs in New Zealand.
