Description : Similar in all respects to C. sulcata but differing in containing stictic acid instead of psoromic acid.
Chemistry : K+ weak yellow, KC−, Pd+ weak yellow; containing atranorin, bourgeanic, stictic, constictic (tr.), cryptostictic (tr.) and norstictic (tr.) acids.
N: Northland (Three Kings Is, Karikari Peninsula, Waipoua Forest), Auckland (Waitakere Ra.). S: Nelson (Dun Mountain). On soil. Also in Australia and Tasmania (Archer & Bartlett 1986; Archer 1992b; McCarthy 2003c, 2006).
