Type locality: Porter River. Type: W, T. Kirk. The exact status uncertain.

Stems more elongate, cauline lvs us. several. Lamina (10)-20-30 × (5)-10-15 mm., obovate- to elliptic-cuneate, rather distantly dentateserrate; teeth ± apiculate; petioles ± 20-25 mm. long. Scapes 5-15-(20) cm. long, capitula 8-10 mm. diam.; achenes 1·5-2 × 0·5-0.75 mm.; beak 0·5-1mm. long.

DIST.: S. Lowland to montane grassland from lat. 42° to 45°; also in herbfield and on sphagnum.
