Lempholemma Körb.

LEMPHOLEMMA Körber, 1855

Thallus crustose to subfruticose, homoiomerous, gelatinous, lacking a cortex. Photobiont blue-green, Nostoc. Apothecia deeply immersed, disc poriform, sometimes emergent, plane. Ascospores colourless, simple, round or ellipsoid, 8 per ascus.

Lempholemma is a genus of c. 30 temperate species of ± gelatinous lichens included in the family Lichinaceae. One species is recorded from New Zealand where the genus is poorly collected and little understood.
