Thallus small, squamulose, ecorticate. Photobiont green, genus unknown. Fruiting bodies unknown.
Normandina is a monotypic genus of uncertain taxonomic position widely distributed in mainly temperate regions. Although placed in the Basidiomycete family Tricholomataceae by some taxonomists, others include it in the rather heterogeneous group, the Lichenes Imperfecti. It occurs widely throughout New Zealand but is very easily overlooked.
