Raoulia hookeri var. albosericea (Colenso) Allan

Var. albo-sericea (Col.) Allan comb. nov. 

R. albo-sericea Col. in T.N.Z.I. 20, 1888, 195.

R. australis var. albo-sericea Kirk Stud. Fl. 1899, 302.

Type locality: "On the dry lower slopes of Mount Ngauruhoe". Type: W, Hill and Owen.

Of rather more compact habit; tomentum snow-white, shining, very closely appressed on both lf-surfaces; lvs c. 3·5 × 2 mm., obovate-cuneate, us. less inflexed; phyll. rather dark at tips, florets us. < 10.

DIST.: N. Montane to subalpine open ground and fellfield, Volcanic Plateau, Ruahine and Tararua Ranges.

A closely related form occurs on both shores of Cook Strait; lvs c. 2.5-3 × 2 mm., hardly or not inflexed, hardly snow-white.
