Eragrostis mexicana
ξE. mexicana (Hornem.) Link ξTufted, to 30 cm. Leaf-blade to 8 cm × 4 mm; margins eglandular. Panicle 6-12 cm, narrow, bearing numerous spikelets on eglandular pedicels. Spikelets 2-4.5 × 1-1.5 mm, 2-6-flowered, light brownish green. Lemma c. 1.5 mm, membranous, broadly ovate. Stamens 3; anthers 0.2 mm. Caryopsis immature, c. 0.5 mm. A species of North and South America: one 19th Century collection from ballast at Wellington T. Kirk (AK 98483, CHR 4100).
