Steinera radiata subsp. aucklandica
Holotype: New Zealand. Auckland, Mount Eden, on basalt boulders in boggy depressions among tufts of Chionochloa antarctica, Argopsis megalospora, 400 m, 31.xii.1962, P.W. James NZ85812 – BM. Isotypes – CHR, MB.

Steinera radiata ssp. aucklandica is characterised by: the saxicolous habit; paraphyses that are simple or bifurcating at the apices, the upper parts submoniliform; and ellipsoidal ascospores, 12–14 × 3–4.5 μm.
