Var. elongatus Allan var. nov. 

Type locality: Mount Stace, on stabilized shingle slide. Type: BD 58154, R. Mason.

Lvs distant, narrow elliptic-oblong to elliptic-obovate; lamina 4-5 × 1-1·5 cm.; tomentum less appressed.

DIST.: S. Seaward Kaikouras.
