ξMelica minuta L. ξThe single specimen consists of one shoot, 30 cm; ligule to 6 mm, lacerate; leaf-blade 1.5 mm diam., convolute; panicle 10 cm, with 2 short branches below and ± simple above; spikelets 8-9.5 mm, with 2 fertile florets and a clavate, pedicelled mass of Ø florets; glumes unequal, > florets, upper glume 3-nerved; lemmas covered with minute prickle-teeth, 9-nerved. A Mediterranean species only known from one 19th Century collection, CHR 5090 J. F. & J. B. Armstrong in fields near Christchurch, "rare", undated.
