Tremotylium Nyl.

Type : Tremotylium angolense Nyl.

Thallus greyish, areolate; ascospores 60–80 × 30–32 μm
Thallus whitish; ascospores 180–240 × 80–100 μm

Tremotylium, included in the family Thelotremataceae (Eriksson et al. 2004; Pennycook & Galloway 2004; Eriksson 2005) comprises six species (Kirk et al. 2001), occurring in Australasia, Asia and South America (Redinger 1936a. Two species are described from New Zealand, but the genus is very much under-collected and requires serious study. Both species are corticolous, have monosporous asci, and large, brown, muriform ascospores.
