Thelotrema farinaceum

T. farinaceum C.Knight, Trans. N. Z. Inst. 15: 349 (1883).

Lectotype: New Zealand. Sine loco [probably Wellington], Charles Knight S77 – WELT Herb. Knight vol. 35A, p. 6 [fide Galloway (1985a: 574)].

Description : Flora (1985: 573).

Chemistry : TLC−, all reactions negative.

N: Wellington, known only from the type collection.

Endemic

Thelotrema farinaceum is characterised by: the saxicolous habit; the thick, whitish to olivaceous, glossy thallus; crowded, blister-like, globose to subpedicellate, white-frosted apothecia; 1-spored asci; and broadly ellipsoidal, 10–12-septate ascospores, 90–140 × 17–30 μm.
