Enterographa bartlettii
Holotype: New Zealand. Auckland, Waitakere Ra., epiphyllous on Griselinia lucida, 8.xii.1979, J.K. Bartlett 18599 – LG. Isotype – CHR 432960.
Description : Thallus up to 5 cm diam., usually less, comprising several small and numerous patches, never forming a continuous thallus but occasionally confluent, prothallus absent; patches 0.4–0.6 mm diam., each with an ascocarp, greenish white to bluish white, surface smooth to somewhat irregular, rarely slightly glossy. Photobiont green, Phycopeltis, cells rounded or angular, oblong or rectangular, 6–9 × 3–5 μm, forming a continuous plate but without any regular, radiate row of cells. Apothecia linear, irregularly bent or undulate, simple to bifurcate or trifurcate, prominent, 0.3–0.4 mm long, 130–160 μm wide, and to 130 μm tall, surface of exciple smooth or slightly irregular, whitish; disc linear, flat to subconvex, orange-brown to reddish. Excipular tissue very thin, 5–8 μm thick, forming a network of coherent hyphae, covered by algiferous thallus. Epithecium pale-brown, to 5 μm thick. Hymenium colourless, 50–65 μm tall. Hypothecium hyaline or very pale brown, to 10 μm thick. Paraphysoids abundant, thin (0.8–1.0 μm thick), branched and anastomosing. Asci ellipsoidal, thick-walled, 8-spored. Ascospores fusiform, straight or slightly curved but distinctly inflated centrally, 7-septate, not constricted at septa, 18–21 × 4–5 μm, with a 2-μm-thick halo.

Enterographa bartlettii is characterised by: the foliicolous habit; a greenish white to bluish white thallus; lirellae 0.3–0.4 mm long; 7-septate ascospores, 18–21 × 4.5 μm, with a halo 2 μm wide; and a photobiont that does not form radiating rows of cells (Sérusiaux 1984a: 296).
