Branching exclusively lateral- and ventral-intercalary. Leaves with lobes of all but the most juvenile leaves with sharply toothed margins. Underleaves distinct. Gemmae broadly ellipsoid to sporadically subquadrate, covered with rounded tubercles. Dioecious. Bracts and bracteole sharply acute at the apex, the margins strongly toothed.
Evansia includes possibly only 2–3 species, one in New Zealand.
