Thallus whitish grey, KC−, Pd+ orange (pannarin); apothecia ±grey-pruinose

Megaloblastenia is an austral genus of two species (Kirk et al. 2001), included in the family Megalosporaceae (Sipman 1983; Kantvilas 1994d; Eriksson et al. 2004; Pennycook & Galloway 2004; Eriksson 2005). Both are known from New Zealand.
