Polyblastia trachyspora

Holotype: New Zealand. Sine loco [probably Wellington], Charles Knight – WELT.

Description : Flora (1985: 410).

N: Wellington. Known only from the type collection (on rock).

Endemic

Illustration : Knight (1883: pl. XXXVI, fig. 9 – as Verrucaria trachyspora).

Polyblastia trachyspora is characterised by: the saxicolous habit; the thin, brownish thallus; minute, semi-immersed black perithecia; and colourless, oval, muriform ascospores, 18 × 10 μm.
