Description : Flora (1985: 564).

N: Wellington (Feilding, Kitchener Park, Manawatu Gorge, Kaitoke). On leaves of Alectryon excelsum and Beilschmiedia tawa. Known also from Central America, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, New Guinea, New Caledonia, Tonga, Samoa and Australia (Santesson 1952; Lücking 1992; Farkas & Sipman 1997; Vězda et al. 1997; Elix & McCarthy 1998; McCarthy 2003c, 2006).

Pantropical

Strigula subelegans is characterised by: the foliicolous habit; the bluish or bluish green thallus; sharply delimited perithecia; and 1-septate ascospores, one cell larger than the other, ends acute and strongly constricted at septum, 17–25 × 4–7 μm.
