Sarcographa Fée

Type : Sarcographa cinchonarum Fée

Description : Flora (1985: 519).

Sarcographa is a genus of mainly tropical corticolous species included in the family Graphidaceae (Staiger 2002; Eriksson et al. 2004; Pennycook & Galloway 2004; Eriksson 2005) with 70 species currently recognised (Kirk et al. 2001). It is closely related to Glyphis (q.v.) but has brown ascospores. See Staiger (2002: 394–419) for a recent account. One species is recorded from northern New Zealand in lowland forest. Sarcographa intricans (Nyl.) Müll.Arg. (Galloway 1985a: 519) is now referred to Phaeographis (Staiger 2002: 329).
