Bacidia minutissima

Holotype: New Zealand. Sine loco [probably Wellington], 11.iii.82, Charles Knight – WELT, Herb. Knight Vol. 47A, p. 12 [fide Galloway (1985a: 33)].

Description : Flora (1985: 33).

N: Known only from the type collection. On bark.

Endemic

Illustration : Knight (1883: pl. XXXVII, fig. 26).

Bacidia minutissima is characterised by: the corticolous habit; the dingy, olivaceous, brownish, filmy thallus; minute, black, glossy apothecia, 0.05–0.2 mm diam.; and fusiform, 5–9-septate ascospores, 30–38 × 3–3.5 μm.
