Description : Flora (1985: 34–35).

N: Northland (Moturoa I. off Cape Karikari), South Auckland (Rabbit I.), Wellington. On bark, still very poorly known and collected.

Bacidia superula is characterised by: the corticolous habit; the dull olivaceous to brownish, granular-papillate, areolate to effuse thallus; the pale orange-yellow apothecia; and oblong-ellipsoidal, 3–6(–8)-septate ascospores, 24–34(–40) × 1.5–2.5(–3.5) μm.
