ξP. remota Forselles ξTufted. Leaf-sheath scabrid above. Ligule c. 2 mm, obtuse, entire. Leaf-blade 3-4 mm wide, soft, flat, persistent. Panicle 16 cm; branches few, paired, long, drooping, filiform, scabrid, each tipped by a single, pale greenish brown spikelet. Spikelets 4-5 mm, 2-flowered. Glumes unequal; lower c. 2 mm, upper c. 3 mm. Lemma 5-nerved, obtuse, nerves finely scabrid; margin wide, hyaline. Palea ciliate-scabrid on keels. Callus glabrous. Anthers c. 0.6 mm. A European species only known from one collection, WELT 68720 D. Petrie Nevis Valley, 2000 ft, Feb. 1890.
