Verrucaria adguttata

Holotype: New Zealand. Auckland, Rangitoto I., on old bone at edge of salt lagoon, H.H. Allan, ZA 53. W. Isotype CHR 373503!

Description : Flora (1985: 605).

N: Auckland (Rangitoto I.).

Endemic

Verrucaria adguttata is characterised by: the saxicolous habit; the blotchy, thin, translucent, brown-black thallus; sessile perithecia; a brown involucrellum; and oblong-ellipsoidal ascospores, 9–11.5 × 2–3 μm.
