Verrucaria cramba

V. cramba Stirt., Proc Roy. phil. Soc. Glasgow 10: 304 (1877).

Holotype: New Zealand. Near Wellington, J. Buchanan – GLAM 00647.

Description : Lichenicolous, on apothecia of host. Perithecia black, very minute, almost spherical. Asci ovoid, cylindrical, 8-spored. Ascospores simple, 10–12 × 2.5 μm.

N: Wellington. Known only from the type collection.

Endemic

Host : Lecidea ?fuscoatrula

* Verrucaria cramba is characterised by: the lichenicolous habit (Lecidea fuscoatrula as host); minute black perithecia; and ascospores 10–12 × 2.5 μm. The true idenity of this speces has not yet been determined with certainty (Triebel 1989: 240).
