Tremotylium suboccultum

T. suboccultum Stirt., Bot. J. Linn. Soc. 14: 465 (1875).

Holotype: New Zealand. Wellington, on bark of trees, J. Buchanan s.n. – GLAM. Isotypes – ?BM, ?WELT.

Description : Flora (1985: 586).

N: Wellington. Known only from the type collection.

Endemic

Tremotylium suboccultum is characterised by: the corticolous habit; aggregated, rounded to linear, brown apothecia in raised, aggregated, thalline verrucae; and very large solitary, brown, muriform ascospores, 180–240 × 80–100 μm.
