Lvs < 2 mm. wide. Stamens 6. 2n = 42 (Hair), 46 (Nordenskiöld).

DIST.: S.

Central Otago on rock, from 200–450 m. altitude.

A characteristic feature of this sp. is the ± drooping pyramidal infl. formed by the densely congested fl. spikes.
