Calicium victorianum

Description : Flora (1985: 57–58 – as Calicium piperatum). See also Tibell (1987: 60–61).

Chemistry : K−, C−, KC−, Pd−. No secondary compounds observed.

N: South Auckland (Mt Honokawa), Gisborne (Moanui Valley, Waioeka Gorge), Wellington (Mangaweka to Ruahine Ra.). Rare in New Zealand on weathered lignum of beech in forest fringe areas, 550–920 m. Known also from Australia (Tibell 1987; McCarthy 2003c, 2006).

Calicium victorianum is characterised by having an immersed thallus and very short stalked to sessile apothecia.
