Cryptolechia A.Massal.

Type : Cryptolechia carneolutea (Turner) A.Massal. [=Parmelia carneolutea Turner]

Description : Flora (1985: 147).

Cryptolechia is a genus of mainly tropical lichens comprising eight described species (Kirk et al. 2001) and included in the family Gyalectaceae (Vězda 1969a; Eriksson et al. 2004; Pennycook & Galloway 2004; Eriksson 2005). Its rather complicated nomenclatural history is discussed by Hawksworth & Dibben (1982). One species is known from New Zealand.
