Description : Flora (1985: 147–148).

N: Auckland to Wellington. On bark, still rarely collected, but it should be searched for on the bark of Beilschmiedia, Dysoxylum, Macropiper, Melicytus and possibly other coastal trees in moderate to dense shade. It has similar habitat requirements to the genus Phlyctis.

Cryptolechia myriadella is characterised by: the corticolous habit; the pale greenish grey, dull olive to whitish, roughened-uneven, shining or matt thallus; Trentepohlia as photobiont (fresh material showing yellowish on scratching); sessile, cupuliform, to semi-immersed apothecia, the disc deeply concave, whitish yellow to brownish; 12–16-spored asci; and fusiform, 5–7-septate ascospores, 20–25(–32) × 3.5–5 μm.
