Author Biographies

John Engel (left) is curator of bryophytes at the Field Museum, Chicago. He has worked mainly on New Zealand liverworts since 1980, publishing many revisions of New Zealand liverwort families and genera such as Schistochilaceae, Clasmatocolea, Lepidozia, Telaranea, and Balantiopsis since then. He also has worked on the austral South American liverwort flora, publishing floras of the Falkland Islands/Islas Malvinas and Brunswick Peninsula.

David Glenny (right) is a taxonomist at the Allan Herbarium, Landcare Research, Lincoln. He has worked on both flowering plants and liverworts, and has published a checklist of the New Zealand liverworts and hornworts and a computer-interactive key to the Australasian liverwort and hornwort genera.
