Bacidina apiahica

Description : Flora (1985: 29 – as Bacidia apiahica).

N: Wellington (Feilding, Kitchener Park, Pohangina Valley – Totara Reserve) on leaves of Beilschmiedia tawa, Metrosideros colensoi, Podocarpus totara, Prumnopitys taxifolia. S: South Westland. On leaves of forest trees. A common pantropical species (Santesson 1952; Kalb 1991; Lücking 1992; Aptroot et al. 1995; Lücking & Kalb 2001; Lücking et al. 2003; Nimis & Martellos 2003; Farkas 2004; Herrera-Campos et al. 2004), and known also from southern Europe and Madeira (Farkas & Sipman 1997; Llop & Hladun 2000).

Pantropical

Bacidina apiahica is characterised by: the foliicolous habit; pale orange-yellow to buff-pink apothecia; and 3(–5–7)-septate ascospores, 20–40 μm long.
