Opegrapha spodopolia Nyl.

O. spodopolia Nyl., J. Linn. Soc. Lond. Bot. 9: 257 (1866).

Lectotype (fide Hayward, 1977): New Zealand, Otago, Shaw's Bay, mouth of Clutha River. W. Lauder Lindsay, H-NYL 6107.

Thallus grey to brown, thick, reticulate-cracked and fissured, saxicolous. Lirellae curved, somewhat immersed, short and wide, 0.5-1.0 × 0.3 mm, thalline margin lacking, proper exciple distinct, black, disc open, paler than exciple, base open, brown. Ascospores 4-6(-7)-locular, 5-6 × 18-27 µm. Chemistry: Nil.

S: Otago (Shaws Bay, mouth of Clutha River), Southland (Howells Point, Foveaux Strait). On coastal rocks, rather rarely collected.
