Thelidium maurospilum

T. maurospilum (Nyl.) Hellb., Bihang K. Sv. Vet.-Akad. Handl. 21 (3/13): 137 (1896).

≡Verrucaria maurospila Nyl., Lich. Nov. Zel.: 134 (1888).

Holotype: New Zealand. Westland, Greymouth, Richard Helms – H-NYL.

Description : Flora (1985: 571).

S: Westland. Known only from the type collection.

Endemic

Thelidium maurospilum is characterised by: the saxicolous habit; the thin, black thallus; minute perithecia (0.1 mm diam.); and oblong, 3-septate ascospores, 12–14 × 5.6 μm.
