Dactylospora acarosporae

Isotype: New Zealand. South I., Otago, Cromwell, 1927, G. Einar & Greta Du Rietz – UPS.
Description : Apothecia black, 0.3–0.4 mm diam., solitary or in groups, sessile, constricted at base. Exciple at edge 15–18 μm thick, blackish brown, dark-brown below hymenium and there 15–50 μm thick. Hypothecium hyaline to greyish, 40–50 μm thick. Hymenium hyaline, I+ dark-blue, 40–50(–60) μm tall; epithecium to 15 μm thick, blackish green. Paraphyses septate 1.5–2.5 μm thick, swollen at apices, 3–5 μm diam., with a brown-black pigmented cap. Asci clavate, 28–35 × 7–11 μm. Ascospores 1-septate, brown or brownish green, thin-walled 8–10.5(–11) × 3.5–4.5(–5) μm.
S: Otago (Cromwell), probably more widely distributed. Known also from Italy (Hafellner 1979: 97).
