Key
Trapeliopsis is a genus of 15 widespread species (Printzen & McCune 2004), distributed in Europe, Africa, North America, Australia and New Zealand, and included in the family Agyriaceae (Lumbsch 1997b; McCune et al. 2002; Eriksson et al. 2004; Pennycook & Galloway 2004; Eriksson 2005). The genus was originally restricted to squamulose species (Schneider 1980; Palice & Printzen 2004), but subsequently crustose taxa were added to it (Coppins & James 1984; Purvis et al. 1992: 612; Tønsberg 1992b; McCune et al. 2002). Trapeliopsis differs from Trapelia by differences in ascomatal ontogeny and hamathecium structure (Lumbsch et al. 1993; Lumbsch 1997b). Five species are known from New Zealand.
