Carex druceana Hamlin var. druceana

Var. druceana

Type: WELT, 11987, Hikurangi Range, Ruahine Mountains, under Danthonia flavescens, c. 1,430 m., B. G. Hamlin 530, 21 Feb., 1956.

Lvs (1)–1.5–2.2 mm. wide. All spikes us. close-packed, lowermost rarely distant. Awn of glume up to 2 mm. long. Utricles c. 2.5 × 1.3–1.5 mm.

DIST.: N. Ruahine Mts. S. N.W. Nelson.

Damp ground in tussock grassland, 1,300–1,500 m. altitude.
