Lecidea aucklandica

Type : New Zealand. Northland, Mahurangi River, on Avicennia officinalis, 3.ix.1933, L.B. Moore ZA 130 – W.

Description : Flora (1985: 224).

Chemistry : Not tested.

N: Northland. Coastal on mangrove bark.

Endemic

Lecidea aucklandica is characterised by: the corticolous habit; the pale whitish to glaucous-green, roughened–verrucose thallus; pale brown-pink, translucent apothecia; hymenium colourless, 40–65 μm tall; a pale yellow-brown hypothecium; and ellipsoidal to oval ascospores, 10–12 × 5–7 μm. As indicated above, this species is not correctly accommodated in Lecidea s. str.
