Lecidea dacrydii

Lecidea eucheila. Holotype: New Zealand. Otago: Mt Cargill, Dunedin, on bark of Dacrydium cupressinum, J.S. Thomson T 543 [ZA 103] – W; isotype – OTA 029452.

Description : Flora (1985: 230).

Chemistry : Not tested.

N: Wellington. S: Canterbury, Otago (Mt Cargill) St: Throughout, an encrusting species on bark of Dacrydium, Dracophyllum and Phyllocladus.

Endemic

Lecidea dacrydii is characterised by: the corticolous habit; pale creamish or dirty-white, thin, areolate, roughened–scabrid thallus; subglobose, red-brown to dark-brown apothecia, translucent when moist; and ovoid ascospores, 10–14(–17) × 6–8.5 μm. As indicated above, this species is not correctly accommodated in Lecidea s. str.
