Echinops ritro

ζ*Echinops ritro L.

ζ*Echinops ritro L. ζ*Stems 20-60 cm tall, with cobwebby tomentum; lvs 1-2-pinnatifid, tomentose beneath, with revolute margins; heads 3-5 cm diam.; involucral bracts bluish, all free; pappus setae connate to 1/2way or more. Known only from Waipiata, C. Otago (CHR 396300, Cossens, 22.2.1984). A single capitulum is illustrated in Fig. 34.(S., C., and E. Europe, W. and C. Asia, 1988).
