Veronica officinalis

ζ*V. officinalis L.

ζ*V. officinalis L. ζ* was first recorded by Hooker and has been collected once in the early part of this century in the Waitakere Range west of Auckland. A hairy perennial with stems rooting at nodes and tending to form a mat; lvs with very short petioles, to 3 × 1.2 cm, ± elliptic-obovate, serrate; infls axillary, opposite, in uppermost lf axils only, erect, with axis to c. 8 cm high; fls bluish mauve, on short pedicels, densely arranged. (Europe, 1855).
