Echeveria ×imbricata
ζ*E. × imbricata Deleuil ζ* (E. gibbiflora DC. cv. 'Metallica' × E. secunda var. glauca (Baker) Otto) has been collected wild at Waikumete Cemetery, Auckland, and was apparently wild at Motunau, N. Canterbury and Anderson's Bay, Dunedin. It is more widespread and usually much commoner in cultivation than E. secunda and as in that sp. the rosettes grow very easily when detached. The hybrid is larger in nearly all its parts than E. secunda; rosettes usually 10-17 cm across; lvs to c. 13 × 7 cm, 4-6 mm thick, ± obovate, deep purplish blue; infls 30-45 cm high, with 2 main and sometimes 1-2 small secondary branches; fls secund; petals 11-15 mm long, orange-red with yellow margins; scales 2.5-3 mm wide. (Cultivated hybrid, 1988).
