Endemic
Megalaria spodophana is characterised by: the corticolous habit; the olivaceous, greyish or greenish yellow, minutely isidiate–furfuraceous, microphylline thallus not delimited by a marginal prothallus; dark red-brown to blackened apothecia, 0.2–0.8 mm diam.; and ovoid to broadly ellipsoidal ascospores, slightly constricted at septum, (13.5–)15–17(–19) × (5–)6–8.5 μm.
