Clarkia unguiculata
ζ*C. unguiculata Lindley ζ*, the common garden clarkia, has been collected wild on the coast in Christchurch. In contrast to C. amoena, the plants are usually single-stemmed, the fl. buds are pendulous, the floral tube at anthesis is < 6 mm long, and the limb and claw of the corolla are approximately the same length. This sp. belongs to Clarkia sens. strict., and has usually been known in N.Z. as C. elegans. (California, 1982).
