Cuphea lanceolata

ζ*C. lanceolata Aiton f.

ζ*C. lanceolata Aiton f. ζ* has been collected wild once (CHR 118383, Hagley Park, Christchurch, Healy, 28.2.1959), having originated from the nearby Botanic Gardens. It differs from C. hyssopifolia in being an annual herb with stems 1 m or more long and covered in glandular viscid as well as simple purple hairs. Lf lamina to 40 × 20 mm; fls solitary, with a prominently ribbed calyx tube 15-19 mm long; larger pair of the 4 petals 9-10 mm long. (Mexico, 1988).
