Medicago scutellata
ζ*M. scutellata (L.) Miller ζ*, snail medick, is known from only one collection (CHR 92082, Swannanoa, Canterbury, Matson, 29.3.1956), a casual in garden. An annual herb. Leaflets 8-20 mm long, clothed in glandular hairs on lower surface. Fls yellow, 6-7 mm long, 1-3 per infl. Pod pelviform, coiled in 4-8 imbricate turns, 10-13 mm diam., distinctly reticulately veined but otherwise smooth. (Mediterranean, Asia Minor, 1957).
