Allocasuarina littoralis

ζ*Allocasuarina littoralis (Salisb.) L. Johnson ζ*, black she-oak, has been collected only once, established in Acacia plantations, Silverdale, Auckland. A monoecious shrub to small tree; young branchlets c. 0.5 mm diam.; lf-teeth of adult branches in whorls of 6-(8); cone ellipsoid to cylindric, flattened at apex, 15-25 mm long; samara 5-8 mm long. Black she-oak has been previously known in N.Z. as Casuarina littoralis. (E. Australia, Tasmania, 1981).
